If you have a Blackstone flat top grill, I’m sure you love it. I love ours. However, after 28 years as a restaurant manager I know you need some water to clean your grill. The tiny little grease trap provided can even overflow with grease under heavy cooking conditions, much less cleaning. So I hacked it.
The hole which allows grease to exit the grill top is about the same size as aluminum gutters… So I bought a piece of regular aluminum gutter, got my tin snips, claw pliers, a thick bucket and some JB weld.
Remove the stock grease trap and inspect the hanger and where it hangs. Then snip, snip, bend so that your gutter piece can hang. Now hang it on the grill and cut another piece of gutter to attach at the bottom of the exit hold with curled up sides to keep the liquid in the tube, attach it with JB weld. Lastly, stick the other end in the bucket and test. Bingo!
