The American tobacco companies have been poisoning us with cigarettes for all of my lifetime and more.
On September 22, 1999, the United States Department of Justice brought a lawsuit against nine cigarette manufacturers and two tobacco industry trade associations in the United States District Court of the District of Columbia (“District Court”). The complaint alleged that the tobacco companies had engaged in an approximately fifty-year conspiracy to fraudulently deceive the American public about the health effects of smoking and environmental tobacco smoke, the addictiveness of nicotine, the health benefits from low tar, “light” cigarettes, and their manipulation of the design and composition of cigarettes in order to sustain nicotine addiction.
According to the complaint, the tobacco companies deliberately sought to deny that smoking caused disease and to maintain that there was no scientific consensus on the subject. In furtherance of this strategy, Defendants allegedly issued deceptive press releases, published false and misleading articles, destroyed and concealed documents which indicated that there was in fact a correlation between smoking and disease, and aggressively targeted children as potential new smokers.
The lawsuit sought to recover health care expenditures the government had paid and would have to pay to treat tobacco-related illnesses as a result of the tobacco companies’ unlawful action under three federal statutes: the Medical Care Recovery Act (“MCRA),[4] the Medicare Secondary Payer (“MSP”) provisions, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”). Additionally, the government requested injunctive relief under the RICO Act to prevent the tobacco companies from engaging in further fraud and to disgorge the companies’ ill-gotten proceeds from their illegal activity.

Notice the bold text “composition of cigarettes in order to sustain nicotine addiction”? This is exactly why I’m so angry! They specifically made cigarettes in such a way as to be continuously addictive and thus poisoning people for the purpose of continued revenue. It’s sick and depraved….
About a decade ago comes e-cigarettes, which the tobacco companies have been battling by slander, deceit and fake news ever since. Until they realized that the revenue they were losing could be recovered by “joining the vape movement”.
Enter Philip Morris and JUUL.
Juul hit the market in 2015 — a rechargeable device that resembles a flash drive. It can’t be customized and generally generates a lower voltage than its mod predecessor.

But what Juul lacked in power, it made up for in its nicotine-fortified e-liquid. Each Juul pod contains a concentration of nicotine equal to a pack of cigarettes; and that’s concerning, because nicotine is physically addictive. The company cut the nicotine with benzoic acid to reduce irritation, meaning users could comfortably inhale more of the vapor. Juul ultimately became a runaway success ― particularly among young people.
We can clearly see that Phillip Morris hasn’t learned anything from it’s previous lawsuits, fines and judgements. They intend to do business in exactly the same way, without a lick of integrity and without concern for anyone but themselves.

I am calling for a ban on every single thing that Phillip Morris manufactures. We NEED to fight back! So I vow that I will NOT use any Phillip Morris products…
Short and Long-Term Effects of Exposure to Benzoic Acid
Immediately or shortly after exposure to benzoic acid, the following health effects can occur:– Eye damage
– Irritation of the skin, resulting in a rash, redness, and/or a burning feeling
– Irritation to the nose, throat and lungs if inhaled, which may cause coughing, wheezing and/or shortness of breath
In addition to these short-term exposure effects, prolonged or repeated exposure to benzoic acid can cause drying and cracking of the skin with redness and itching. Exposure to benzoic acid in high concentrations, particularly in susceptible individuals, may cause a skin allergy. If an allergy develops, even exposure to very low levels can cause itching and a skin rash.

JUUL doesn’t care about anything but their bottom line… They are poisoning us, just as they always have, for profit!

It’s really sad for humanity that Phillip Morris & JUUL continue to prey on people with their murderous tactics to make money…. But if we don’t stand against it, we are equally guilty of plaguing yet another generation with disease, addiction and death.
It is easier to fall for anything than to stand for something.
I will NOT be a sheep led to slaughter, I will fight for myself and generations to come to be safe from company’s who profit from dealing death.
